Prescott Area
Prescott Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated within the city limits of
Prescott, one of Arizona's most charming and historic towns. In addition to its
many cultural attractions, Prescott is home to a wealth of outdoor pursuits
including kayaking, canoeing, and sailing at Watson Lake and Willow Lake along
with five other beautiful lakes.
Granite Mountain Wilderness, also nearby, is a spectacular area for hiking,
camping, mountain biking and horseback riding.
Prescott's history is part of the saga of the American West. The town was
founded in 1864, shortly after the discovery of gold in the area. Named as
Arizona's territorial capital, Prescott has maintained this rich heritage along
fabled Whiskey Row and in its historic districts, which contain hundreds of
beautifully restored Victorian-era homes.
The city is surrounded by National Forest preserves, and is situated amid the
largest stand of ponderosa pines in the world. With its mild, four-season
climate, glorious setting, and year-round recreation, Prescott has consistently
been named as one of the best places to live by national publications.
